WB 1-3ππ© : MATH NO AHHHHH
This week of school was tiring and sort of stressful. Firstly, I blame all of this on my procrastination, and sleepiness. This week, I had a lot of things to do like; finishing an art assignment, helping my dad fix a car, working the speakers for music, and having math homework. In period 5, I had art class with Ms. Coury, and the assignment she assigned us was Illusion art. The assignment itself is easy, but the little time she gave us to do it in class made the majority of the class have to take the assignment home to finish it. Alongside Illusion art to finish, I had tons of math homework in Period 1, Ms. Chen's class. This included three MathXL assignments to do, and we had to write down our work on folder paper so she knows that we didn't cheat. The homework I had made me stressed and think about what would happen if I didn't turn in my work on time, but I ended up finishing the art assignment and the MathXL in two days. Because of the stress, I was constantly exhausted, which made me not focus that well in class. Luckily, this didn't have much effect on my grades and it only affected my attention in class. Periods 2, 3, 4, and 6 were fine, and nothing went wrong in class other than my classmates being rowdy and disruptive. Another thing I did this week was to work Picture Taking alongside other homeroom members. On the days that we worked, we had to skip the period we had to go to that day when we wanted to work, put on our vests, go to certain classes, introduce ourselves, get them in a line in alphabetical order, and take them to the cafeteria where they took their photos. At times, it got boring when all we had to do was make sure that they took off their name tags and outer-wear, and waited for them to be finished so we could move on to the next two or three classes. This week, me and my group worked on music for morning and recess. We had to unlock A102, set up the speakers, turn on the music board, and make sure the volume of the music isn't too loud or soft. Sometimes things went wrong like not setting up the speakers fast enough, having a hard time wrapping cords, and controlling the volume of the music. But overall, it was easy to do when things went well.
Highlights + Lowlights
Highlights
- Working music in A102 - One of the highlights this week was working music in A102. I enjoyed listening to the music we picked to play, and setting up the speakers was easy. All we had to do was put on our vests, unlock A102, set up speakers and turn on lights, turn on the music board, and start putting on songs fit for either the morning before school starts or for recess.
- Hanging out with my friend at my house after school - The second highlight of my week was after a long and exhausting day of school, I was happy to let my friend come over to my house and hang out for a bit. We had fun walking home together and chilling in my room. This let me relax and enjoy spending my time with my friend.
- Sharing the 'Obstacle' side of the Bio Cubes we made in the homeroom - The third highlight of my week was sharing what obstacles we had based on what we put on our Bio Cubes in the homeroom. I like hearing about other people, and them sharing what they struggle with helps me be a better person for them, or how I could possibly help them if they look like they are struggling with whatever they are trying to overcome.
Lowlights
- Finishing homework - One of the lowlights of my week was rushing to finish the homework I had for art and math class. These assignments made me stressed out and anxious to try and finish them as quick as possible. This means that I probably turned in work that wasn't my best, and the teacher could tell that it was rushed.
- Last couple of minutes of Period 6, Social Studies - Another lowlight this week was the last couple of minutes of Social Studies. We had to fill out an assignment about high and low islands, to which my two other group members were messing around and were talking when Mr. Cole was telling the class important information. This made me frustrated, and we had to rush to get the assignment done.
- Having to skip a period to work at Picture Taking - The third lowlight of my week was having to skip a period to work at Picture Taking. Having to catch up on notes and missing work is not something I enjoy, so having to do that made me stressed about not being able to catch up in class, and that I would fail because I would end up not catching up with notes or whatever the assignment that the class was doing that day.
